There are different types of home improvement loans available in the market. Some of these are cheap home improvement loans, secured home improvement loans, fast loans, low-interest home improvement loans, etc. For people with a bad credit score, bad credit home improvement loans are also available. Those who have county court judgments, or arrears or have made default in repayment of loans, etc can avail this loan. This loan is sanctioned for home improvement only. Extension of the home requires further approval. The loan comes with a very high interest rate to cover up the risk taken by the lender in providing this loan to a person with bad credit. There is every chance of getting denied for the loan also. The home has to be kept as collateral for this loan. So if the borrower fails to repay on time, he might lose his home. This loan will be a better option compared to mortgage extension loan because, mortgage extension loan has to be repaid over the entire loan period of the mortgage. So the amount paid as interest will be more compared to a home improvement loan. One has to bear in mind that there is no loan that will suit all the circumstances of the borrower.
